Day 01: Arrive Paro
During the flight, on a clear day, you can see breathtaking views of the Himalaya Mountains , including the sacred Jumolhari and Jichu Drake peaks in Bhutan . On arrival you will be greeted by our representative and transferred to your hotel. In the evening you can stroll through the Paro market and town. Overnight in Paro.
Day 02: Paro-Jele Dzong (8 km, 3 hours) Trek Starts
Today is a short trekking day. The day starts with a short climb to Jele Dzong. The trek trail is rather gradual up till the camp and if the weather is clear the Paro valley can be seen with snow-capped mountains behind. Above the camp is Jele La Dzong (3,400m) and Jele Dzong is mostly in ruins and there is a Lhakhang with the statute of Buddha Sakyamuni. Overnight camp.
Day 03: Jele Dzong- Jangchulakha (10 km, 4 hours)
Begin with an hour and half climb and then ascend gradually up. The trail takes you through thick alpine forests and rhododendrons. You may see yak herders around your campsite. There are fascinating views of Jhomolhari and other snow capped mountains and you can also hear some monal peasants during the day.
Day 04: Jangchulakha-Jimilangtsho (11 km, 4 hours)
The trail follows the ridge and on a clear day the views of the mountains and valleys are sensational. Camp is close to the lakes of Jimilangtsho. These lakes are famous for their giant sized trouts. Also there are great views of 6,989 m Jichu Drake, the peak representing the protective deity of Paro. Overnight camp.
Day 05: Jimilamgtsho-Simtokha (11 km, 4 hours)
The trail takes you through dwarf rhododendron trees and bypasses the lake of Janetsho . Today you may come across some yak herder's camp and get an idea how these people live. Camp is close to Simkota Lake . Overnight camp.
Day 06: Simkota-Phajodhing-Thimphu (15 km, 7 hours) Trek Ends
Today you begin with gradual climb and if the weather permits, you will enjoy majestic view of Mount Gangkar Puensum, and also the other peaks. The trail slowly descends through junipers trees to Phajodhing and descends down hill through a forested area of mostly blue pine till you reach Thimphu . Overnight at the hotel in Thimphu.
Day 07: Thimphu- Punakha (Ride back from Dochula Pass till Punakha)
Morning sightseeing in Thimphu and afternoon drive to Punakha valley. The drive from Thimphu crosses 3,100 m Dochula pass that heralds the most enchanting views of Bhutan . In Punakha, visit the Dzong situated at the junction of Pho Chhu and Mo Chhu rivers. Built in 17 th century by Zhabdrung Ngawang Namgyal, this Dzong has played important role in Bhutan 's history. Overnight at the hotel in Punakha.
Day 8: Punakha (Rafting at Phochu River)
After break fast hike to Put-in for 2 hours and start rafting down the river. You will have lunch near the Chorten. Then start rafting down till you end below the majestic Punakha Dzong. Evening you can bike in and around Punakha and Wangdi area. Overnight hotel in Punakha.
Day 9: Punakha- Paro (Ride Bike from Dochula to Thimphu)
Drive back to Paro via Thimphu . You will have lunch in Thimphu . If the day falls on Friday, Saturday or Sunday, you can visit the Vegetable Market. Drive to Paro and overnight hotel in Paro.
Day 10: Paro Depart
