Thimphu Festival

Day 1: Arrive Paro
On arrival at Paro International Airport, you will be received by your tour guide and take you to your hotel. Relax in the hotel. Overnight in Paro.

Day 2: Paro-Thimphu
Hike to Tiger's Nest Monastery. Afternoon drive to Thimphu. Enroute visit Simtokha Dzong, the oldest fortress in Bhutan. In the evening stroll through Thimphu town. Overnight in Thimphu.

Day 3: Thimphu Tshechu
After an early breakfast attend the first day of the Tshechu, which is held outside the courtyard of Tashichho Dzong. Lunch at the hotel and watch Thimphu Tshechu. Overnight in Thimphu.

Day 4: Thimphu Tshechu
Attend full day Thimphu festival. Overnight in Thimphu.

Day 5: Thimphu-Punakha
Morning drive to Punakha, the ancient capital of Bhutan with stop at Dochu La Pass for tea. After lunch in Punakha, visit the Dzong which is situated in between male and female rivers like an anchored ship. Overnight in Punakha.

Day 6: Punakha with excursion to Wangdue
You will drive 12 km north of Punakha Valley and from the road point, you will hike for 30 minutes to Khamsum Yulley Namgyel Chorten, which is located on a beautiful hillock overlooking the villages. It contains elaborate paintings dedicated to Old sect of Buddhism. You will have a picnic lunch on the way. Hike back to till road point where your vehicle will be waiting to transfer to your hotel. Overnight in Punakha.

Day 7: Punakha-Thimphu
Drive to Thimphu. Afternoon will be spent shopping or strolling through Thimphu town. Overnight in Thimphu.

Day 8: Thimphu – Paro
Visit Memorial Chorten, Painting School, Traditional Medicine and Traditional Paper Factory. In the afternoon, drive to Paro. Evening visit farmhouse to experience the lives of farmers. Overnight in Paro.

Day 9: Depart Paro
Seen off by your tour guide.
